Vela is a guided breathing app. A single circle swells and settles to pace your breath; choose a pattern, and breathe.
It is a native app, not a web page in a wrapper. The circle is drawn by a real-time shader with a soft, living edge; the breath cues are designed haptics and synthesised tones; and the colour comes from your device's Material You theme.
Patterns:
- Box (4·4·4·4)
- Triangle (4·4·4)
- Relaxing (4·7·8)
- Energising (2·1)
Shape it to suit you:
- Visual — how lively or still the circle's edge is.
- Sound — a soft tone on each breath, at a volume you set (synthesised, no audio files).
- Haptics — a tap at each phase, or a buzz that follows the breath, at a strength you set.
- Colour — follow your wallpaper, or pick a tone from your Material You palette.
Eyes-closed sessions keep the breath going with the screen off, guided by sound and haptics alone, with a lock-screen Live Update to pause or end. Vela is built to be reachable: it works with a screen reader, and it honours your "remove animations" and battery-saver settings.
Vela is offline. There is no network, no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising. Nothing leaves your device. It is free software under the GPL, version 3 or later, and part of the ursa.nz family.
